My Garden Gardens My garden is my sanctuary. In school holidays and weekends, soon as the temperatures rise, I follow the sun around the garden and have breakfast by the magnolia tree, lunch by the pond and afternoon tea sat at the top of the garden surveying and rejoicing in all its beauty. If the temperature cools or the rain begins to fall I head for the shelter of the summer house. I have made many sketches and paintings in the garden. I love all the different shapes oft the leaves and plants, the different colours, some in harmony some in contrast, some pale and sensitive, others vibrant and dynamic. It’s such a joy to sit and paint or draw all day, listening to the sounds of the passing insects and bees, watching the birds hover, stop and rest for a while before continuing on with their busy lives.
